The largest island in the lake, where there is a dream villa
GARDA ISLAND
Garda Island, also called Isola Borghese is the largest island of Garda Lake.
It is located on the Brescia side of Lake Garda, a few fathoms of water from San Felice del Benaco.
Place of rare beauty owes its charm to the extraordinary villa in Venetian Gothic style, designed by architect Luigi Rovelli in the early '900.
At his feet, terraces and Italian gardens strech down to the lake. This place of magic and enchantment boasts a rich and diverse local vegetation, exotic plants, rare species and unique flowers. A harmonious pines and cypresses wood, acacias and lemon trees, magnolias and agaves.
The birdsong seems to be the joyous voice of the soul of those who, over the centuries, have respected, cared for and loved.
From April to October the island is open to the public with an advance reservation.
It only can be reached from the lake, and every monday there is a departure from Desenzano.
Departure from Desenzano at 14.30 and return by 18.00. The excursion includes a visit to the garden and the villa, a tasting of typical products of Lake Garda.
The visit costs 30,00 euros for adults and 20,00 euros for kids.
